The ground rules, in plain English.
These terms cover how we work together on websites, add-ons and care plans. They are short on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask before you commit.
Who we are
Wexlar Studios (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a trading name and is based in the United Kingdom. Our address is Lytchett House, 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FA, and you can reach us at hello@wexlarstudios.com. These terms apply to every project, add-on and care plan we agree with you.
What we provide
We design, build and launch custom websites, and we offer optional add-ons (such as copywriting, logo and brand identity, and local SEO) and monthly care plans. What is included in each package or plan is described on our Pricing and Care Plans pages. Once we have talked through your project, we confirm the exact scope with you in writing before any work starts.
Pricing and payment
Our prices are fixed, not estimates. The price in your written scope is the price you pay, even if a project takes longer than we expected. Anything outside that scope is quoted separately and only goes ahead once you agree to it. We send payment by secure payment link, and any deposit or staged payments are set out in your written scope before work begins.
Timelines
We share a realistic timeline when we kick off and we work to it. Timelines assume you send us the content, images and feedback we need promptly. If those arrive late, the schedule moves with them.
Revisions
Each website package includes a set number of revision rounds, as listed on the Pricing page. A round means one consolidated set of changes sent together. If you are still not happy after your included rounds, we talk it through and find a fair way forward. Additional work beyond the agreed scope is quoted separately.
Your content
You are responsible for making sure that any text, images, logos or other material you give us is yours to use, or that you have permission to use it. We are not responsible for claims that arise from material you supply.
Who owns what
Once your project has been paid for in full, you own the finished website and its code outright, along with your own content. There are no licensing fees and no platform lock-in. Until payment is complete, we keep ownership of the work. We may show your finished website in our portfolio and on our social channels. If you would rather we did not, just tell us in writing and we will not.
Care plans
Care plans are monthly and cover what is listed for your chosen tier on the Care Plans page. Every website build includes the first three months of a care plan at no charge. After that, the monthly price applies unless you cancel. You can cancel at any time with 30 days' notice. There are no exit fees, and we will hand everything over cleanly if you leave.
Third-party services
Your website relies on services we do not control, such as hosting, domain registration, email delivery and payment providers. We choose reputable providers and set them up carefully, but we cannot be responsible for outages or changes on their side. Where a third-party service has its own fees or terms, those are separate from ours.
What we can and cannot promise
We build every site with care and to a high standard. We cannot promise specific search rankings, traffic or sales, because those depend on factors outside our control. Scores we quote for SEO, performance or security reflect tests carried out at the time of the work.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Beyond that, our total liability to you for any claim arising from a project or plan is limited to the amount you paid us for that project or plan. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit or lost business.
Cancelling a project
If a project is cancelled part-way through, we will agree a fair charge for the work already completed. The details are set out in your written scope.
Privacy
How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy notice.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when we agree your project is the one that applies to it, and the date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If something goes wrong, please contact us first at hello@wexlarstudios.com. Most problems are quicker to fix with a conversation.
